Dr. Gallo Curveball: Baseball Flows Newsletter

Nik McClaughry, a Rocklin High School graduate and University of Arizona shortstop, recently had a life-changing moment during the 2023 MLB Draft. The San Diego Padres picked him in the 10th round, fulfilling his dreams of making it to professional baseball.

As a first-team All-Sierra Foothill League honoree in his senior year at Rocklin, McClaughry's talent was evident from the start. He continued to excel at Sacramento City College, earning a gold glove for the Big 8 Conference before joining Arizona.

McClaughry's impact at Arizona was undeniable, earning various accolades and showcasing his skills on both offense and defense. He demonstrated outstanding defensive abilities, earning the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year award and being named an ABCA and Rawlings Gold Glove finalist. He was also an essential part of Arizona's journey to the Pac-12 championship game.

Last year we provided movement flow and athleticism training to the University of Arizona. Nik was extremely consistent with the program. Here is what he had to say:

“Baseball Flows has been an unbelievable tool for me in my baseball journey. It helps get me ready to perform on the field and keeps me athletic and loose on and off the field as well. I use the movement flows to get prepared for games, practices, and weight room workouts. Go check out the awesome programs that are available, and I know you won’t be disappointed.”

As Nik embarks on his professional baseball career with the Padres, he will continue on our programming.

Nik is a grinder with a keen eye for making plays and getting on base, he aims to contribute to the team's success in any way possible.

Join us in celebrating Nik McClaughry's achievements and witness his promising future as he takes the field for the San Diego Padres minor league affiliates.
