If your player is striking out often or can’t seem to throw strikes, the first instinct is usually to blame mechanics.
But in most cases…
It’s not their swing or throwing motion—it’s their movement.
Specifically:
❌ Poor hip mobility
❌ Weak core stabilization
❌ A lack of transition control
These movement limitations lead to inconsistent timing, poor sequencing, and “energy leaks.” Think of it like trying to launch a rocket with loose bolts—it’ll wobble off course or never lift off at all.
🔬 A Physics Example: Why Flow Matters
In physics, you can’t hold energy—you can only transfer it.
Hitting and pitching are dynamic systems, not static positions.
That means success depends on how well you transition from one phase to the next—
– Load → Launch
– Drive → Decel
– Rotate → Stabilize
When transitions are stiff or disconnected, power gets lost in the chain. Timing breaks down. Accuracy suffers. And performance drops.
🌀 How We Train It in the Baseball Flows App
Early in my career as a Physical Therapist, I obsessed over “perfect” mechanics. I cued static positions, forced angles, and micromanaged posture.
But all that froze athleticism.
